Londonderry Old Home Day 2010

Our town holds this fair every year. They have a parade and activities for kids and adults that are held from Thursday to Saturday including concerts, kids night, fireworks, softball game between the fire and police, a baby photo competition, kids games and the town common is set up with booths and games. It is nice to get the town together and we do usually catch up with people we don't see very often. It seemed even more political than ever this year, more than other years with all candidates for upcoming elections marching in the parade and promoting their cause. The governor and his wife were in the parade as well which I guess would be expected but it would have been nice to have a break from the 24/7, 52 week a year political crap you have to live with over here. Its insane and I never knew how lucky we were in Australia to have the system we have. It has its problems but nothing like here!
